Dr. Kisha Steele Mitchell joined the amazing team at Dentistry for Kids in 2016, and became the proud new owner in 2017. Dr. Mitchell has a passion for working with children, and strives to make each dental visit an enjoyable experience in a kid-friendly environment. She feels most accomplished when she helps a fearful child become relaxed and look forward to their dental visits. It is her goal to partner with families from infancy through adolescence to help children achieve their best dental health.
Education
Dr. Mitchell received her education at Howard University in Washington, DC where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Mathematics in 2002, a Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree in 2006, completed a residency in Orthodontics in 2008 and later completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2016. Dr. Mitchell is one of very few dental specialists Board Certified in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. This unique training and experience makes her the ideal provider to address the comprehensive dental needs of children.

Dr. Mitchell is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Association of Orthodontists®, American Dental Association®, National Dental Association, Old North State Dental Society and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Personal Life
Outside of the office, Dr. Mitchell engages in youth mentorship. She also enjoys traveling, as well spending time with her husband Charles and two young children, Charles, Jr. and Bella.
Ann Kennedy, DDS
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Ann Kennedy is a board-certified pediatric dentist who loves helping kids feel comfortable, confident and excited about going to the dentist. She believes that positive early dental experiences and high-quality oral health care lay the foundation for a lifetime of smiling. Dr. Kennedy is thrilled to be part of the Dentistry For Kids, Pediatric & Orthodontics team and looks forward to getting to know families in the Huntersville and Lake Norman community.
Education
Dr. Kennedy earned her dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her pediatric dentistry residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where she received advanced training in caring for children of all ages and needs. She is board-certified, having successfully completed a rigorous process that reflects advanced knowledge and skill in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Kennedy takes a gentle, patient-centered approach to oral health care and her favorite part of working with kids is helping turn nervous first visits into confident smiles.

Dr. Kennedy is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association® and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry College of Diplomates. She is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Personal Life
Outside the office, Dr. Kennedy is a mom and understands firsthand how important it is for families to feel heard, supported and at ease. When she’s not at work, she enjoys reading, discovering great food, traveling and chasing after her two young kids.
